Painting Kitchen Cabinets

Painting your kitchen cabinets doesn’t have to be a difficult process at all, yes it will take some work and preparation is the key for a successful kitchen cabinet painting job.
Our estimator will first schedule a free estimate to access the condition and type of cabinets you may have as well as let you know about the whole process and define the expectations for this type of work. Expectations are key here as you are painting a pre finished surface and you have to be realistic with your needs and be prepared to possibly have tpo touch up some of the higher use areas over time.
We first will arrive on the job site and cover the floors and cabinet tops in the area we are working. Then we will remove any of the hardware such as door handles. At this point if we are taking the doors back to our shop we will do so, if not we will start to lightly scratch the surfaces we are painting with a fine sandpaper, this will enable the paint or primer/sealer to stick (bit) into the surface. Your job may or may not get a primer sealer, it depends on the current condition and would be accessed at time of the estimate. There are so many different types of paint that can be used and it is not a standard for every job to use the same product. After we scuff sand the cabinets we will then wipe them clean with a rag and perhaps a cleaner to remove any dust again increasing the chances of a good adhesion.
Once this is done we are ready to paint, we generally will brush and roll your cabinets in your home, if we take the dors back to the shop and spray them it is for convenience only as it is faster for us, it will not result in a different looking job as we can brush and roll cabinet doors using a very fine roller with special paints. Depending if a primer is used we will either put one coat of a tinted primer and then one top coat or two top coats of the finish. We only use the highest quality paints from Benjamin Moore Or Muralo for cabinets.
